Snow Days

A couple of weeks ago, a winter storm that was supposed to strike during the night arrived several hours early.  Thankfully, Liz was able to pick both girls up from school at noon that day and make it safely back home.  Ryan left the office about an hour later and made it home but had trouble getting up the driveway.  I left about 1:30, and it took me about 1.25 hours to get the 1.5 miles home; I'll be honest, it was a very scary drive, and I've never been so relieved to get home!  I didn't care that my car got stuck coming up the driveway, I just wanted to be home.  Unfortunately, many people weren't able to make it back to their homes that evening.  Lots were stuck on the side of the road, but we saw many cases of people opening their homes to strangers to give them a warm place to sleep and hot food.

The girls of course were quite excited to have some snow to play in.  They loved making snow angels on the deck (this is only a couple of hours into the snow).
 Catching a few flakes.

 Happy girls!
 Two days in...
School ended up being out for 3.5 days.  Yesterday, it was cancelled again at the threat of another storm which didn't even begin until overnight.  Predictably, everyone was overreacting and trying to overcompensate for last time.  It did ice overnight, so we're all at home again today.  Ice is not nearly as fun to play in as snow though, so we've all stayed inside today.  School has been cancelled once again for tomorrow, though I think the roads will be clear enough to get into the office for awhile.  Snow, snow, go away...

Mia Recently

ACCA recently celebrated their 100th day of school.  PreK was invited to wear a shirt that celebrated this day.  Mia went to school with 10 bags of 10 M&Ms pinned to her to share with her classmates.  I think it was a hit!
Mia's class on the 100th day.  Such cuties!
The girls recently made Mia a rocket out of a shipping box that had arrived.  She loved it!
