5 Years Old!

Happy 5th birthday to one of the sweetest little girls ever!  Lily Hooks, your Mommy and Daddy love you so much.  I wish I could fully describe the amount of joy she brings to us, but it's just not possible.  Here are a few of the things that we absolutely love about her:
 - Lily is so smart.  It has been so much fun watching her acclimate to Pre-K.  She loves it.  She adores her teacher, Mrs. Worrell, and she is making several really sweet friends.  She loves to play school, and "teach" Mia everything she knows.  She is learning lots of Bible verses and all sorts of neat things every day.  We are so pleased with ACCA, and we're loving watching her grow here.
 - We love seeing how creative Lily is.  She loves any kind of arts and crafts project.  She colors multiple pictures everyday.  She loves to make her own books; she draws a picture and then asks one of us to write down what she dictates.  It's fun to watch her imagination run as she writes, colors and plays with her toys.
 - Lily is so loving.  She loves to snuggle up close, and give hugs and kisses.  She is considerate of others and tries to be a good friend.  She is such a sweet girl.

Lily still loves books which is awesome.  We read a book or magazine (she loves Highlights and National Geographic for Kids) every night before bed (not to mention many times before bed).  Right now, she loves the Fancy Nancy and Olivia series.  She also enjoys Search and Finds, Discover the Differences and other workbook-type activity books.

She loves to help out in the kitchen which is lots of fun.  She especially enjoys baking sweet treats!  She also loves to look through cookbooks and gets all sorts of fun ideas about things to make;  I know exactly where that trait comes from!

Lily loves her gymnastics class.  She is doing a great job with it too.  At first, she said she didn't like it a whole lot because it was hard, but each time she goes, the more she enjoys it and the better she is getting.  She's having a lot of fun with it now.

I asked Lily a few questions this evening to get an idea of what's she thinking these days (though she pretty much talks nonstop so we usually know exactly what she is thinking).  Here's what she had to say about her favorite things:
1. Book - Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Find the Differences
2. Movie - Tangled; actually she said "Rapunzel" but she is the star of Tangled
3. Color - Pink (this hasn't changed in awhile)
4. Game - Hide and Seek
5. Princess - Ariel
6. Food - Shrimp and Fish
7. Animal - Unicorn
8. Restaurant - Veni, Vidi, Vici (a delicious, upscale Italian restaurant that she and Ryan visit for Daddy-Daughter dates)
9. What do you want to be when you grow up? A chef
10. Who is your best friend? Mommy and Daddy (said with a big grin on her face)

I cannot say enough about our precious Lily.  We are so blessed to have her as our oldest daughter, and we cannot wait to see what her future holds!
