Miscellaneous October Happenings

Some miscellaneous fun that's been going on this month:

Bama took the girls to a fun new playground; here they are kicked back and relaxing.

Ryan surprised the girls with Disney on Ice tickets while I was in Nashville for a conference.  They had a great time, especially when they got slushies!

I always love seeing the artwork at ACCA.  Mrs. Rodriguez does a great job as the art teacher.  These colorful self portraits are outside the art class; they look awesome!

Up close pictures of the girls' self portraits from above.

We always love a trip to McEntyre's Bakery for a treat.  They have started hosting Family Fun Nights a few times a year, so we tried one out recently.  We loved listening to the wife of the current owner (who is the 3rd generation owner) tell their story and share how they run their business to glorify God.  They always keep Bibles on the shelves near the door, and you're always welcome to take one or share one.  We were able to talk with them more a little later, and we were so impressed.  We'll enjoy going to McEntyre's even more now that we know what a great family runs it!

The girls concentrated on decorating their cupcakes and cookies.  We had lots of different colors of icing to choose from and the staff kept bringing lots of fun toppings to experiment with too.

 Working hard.

Showing off some of their products.  Mia made a rainbow spider web, and Lily made a black cat.

Our finished products were packed up.  This was Lily's box.

 Ryan's box.

 My box.

Mia's box.  For some reason, I can't get this picture to turn.

ACCA's annual Booster Thon Fun Run was last Friday.  The girls were super excited about it!  There had been daily activities and prizes leading up to the big day, so the whole school was pumped for the run.  Finally, it was time!  Mia led her class out of the tunnel as they were introduced.

 Ready to run!

Skipping along with Callie and Mrs. Meyers.

 During the laps.

The girls each ran 30 laps which was awesome!  Combined, they raised over $500 for the school which they were very proud of.  The school met its fundraising goal, so a new playground is on the way - woo who!
